Meagan Good was born on on August 8, 1981, was raised in Panorama City in Los Angeles by her parents Leondis Leon Good and Tyrawardlow-Doyle. Tyra worked for her as a manager in her teens. She grew up with her three brothers at home in Canyon Country in California and began acting when she was just four years old. She started her acting career as an extra in television programs such as Doogie Howser Amen, M.D. and Doogie Howser Amen. In the year she turned 13, her first role in a feature film occurred. The film first gained attention in 1997 for her role in the role of Cisely batiste (a struggling teenage girl) in Eve's Bayou, for which she received two nominations, and also received an N.A.A.C.P. Image Award nomination. Good played small roles in film and television for a few years before shifting into roles that were more mature at the dawn of the 2000s. Kara Killmer, who had been in numerous local productions prior to making her debut on screen in 2010, made it on Simon Fuller's Hulu show If I Can Dream. The series on Hulu called If I Can dream revolves around the lives of a group of musicians who live in Hollywood California.
